VANDRÉLAAR : Redefining Conscious Footwear

Vandrélaar is a premium ladies’ footwear brand that merges fashion-forwardness with sustainability and transparency, while creating a positive social impact. Vandrélaar’s mission is to create timeless pieces that celebrate the art of slow fashion while respecting our planet.

WHO IS VANDRÉLAAR ?

Victoria André-Van de Laar

Victoria André-Van de Laar, the visionary founder of Vandrélaar, brings over a decade of experience in the footwear industry. Having worked alongside some of the industry’s most talented creatives, she decided to embark on a new journey in 2022. Her objective was clear: to merge timeless design with exceptional craftsmanship, setting a new standard for conscious footwear. The brand’s name, Vandrélaar, is an anagram of her own, reflecting her Belgian heritage and global upbringing, which inspire the brand’s philosophy.

Slow fashion down

In a world where fashion often feels disposable, Vandrélaar’s commitment to slowing fashion down is refreshing. Their footwear is not just about trends, it’s about becoming permanent pieces in the modern woman’s wardrobe. These shoes are designed to last and are a celebration of the fair treatment and craftsmanship of the artisans who create them.

The brand sets itself apart by focusing on what genuinely aligns with its values, which involves decelerating the fashion cycle via deliberate design and crafting limited quantities. This approach ensures that each pair of Vandrélaar shoes is a work of art, meticulously crafted to stand the test of time. By choosing to create in limited quantities, they also help to reduce waste and avoid stock surplus, contributing to the fight against overconsumption.

During our recent encounter with Victoria at the last Tranoi show, we gained insight into the brand’s dedication to craftsmanship and its profound appreciation for the human touch in every pair of shoes. Victoria’s inspiration drawn from her friends and close circle shines through in her designs, as she strives to create comfortable footwear. In her own words, Vandrélaar is all about “shoes designed by a woman for women.” To learn more about her vision and journey, don’t miss the exclusive interview with Victoria.

Towards the Future. Sustainability

Sustainability is not just a buzzword at Vandrélaar, it’s at the core of everything they do. From design to delivery, the brand is committed to minimizing its environmental impact.

The materials used in Vandrélaar’s footwear are sourced from European suppliers and are consciously selected for their durability, quality, and gentle impact on the environment. This ensures that each pair of shoes not only looks good but also does good for the planet.

In their efforts to reduce waste, Vandrélaar produces its collections in limited quantities, avoiding the promotion of overconsumption. This approach aligns with their philosophy of slowing down fashion and ensuring that every pair is treasured. Additionally, all deliveries from Vandrélaar are plastic-free and carbon-neutral, furthering their commitment to a sustainable future.

In an industry where change is often slow to come, Vandrélaar is a breath of fresh air. They are proving that conscious footwear can be as stylish as it is sustainable. Victoria André-Van de Laar’s vision of merging timeless design with exceptional craftsmanship is not just a concept, it’s a reality, and it’s a testament to the fact that fashion can be both beautiful and responsible. Vandrélaar is not just another fashion shoe brand, it is a movement towards a more conscious and sustainable future for fashion.
